The vine grower Trygaeus rides a giant beetle up to the heavens
to ask Zeus when the Spartans and the Athenians will stop fighting each other.
Once there, he finds out that the gods have abandoned the people
and that War holds Peace as his hostage. With the help of his fellow countrymen,
Trygaeus will try to free Peace and bring her back to earth.
